GHOSTS

Ben Harris With a sound that somehow finds a creepy little nook between the sing-song "made for telly" nostalgia of The School and the stern nerve-buzzing misery of Puerto Rico Flowers, stumbling upon Cherryweather's music was a pleasant surprise! Weirdly I was led here after a heavy browsing session into Bandcamp's seemingly limitless warrens of HNW and noise music. It was clearly meant to be... :3 Favorite track: Distant Planet.

Remembering you is like the sweetest thorn in my side. Remembering You has got me sleeping better at night. Remembering you makes me wanna do what's right. Remembering you makes me feel alright. How long is it now since we have held each other tight? How much fun can two people have in one night? Tried to kiss someone else's lips, it wasn't right, cos I was remembering you. How many people have closed their eyes and turned away? You shut your mouth, you don't need to tell me you'll stay. Remembering you it will be twice as good when you're here. I can't wait, I'm adding up the days until you're near. Remembering you in the sweetest dreams when you appear. Remembering you. How many people have closed their eyes and turned away? You shut your mouth, you don't need to tell me you'll stay

Well I know that you want me to give you my heart It isn't mine to give And I know that you want me to tell you my secrets They aren't mine to give Let it go let it go Let it go let it go Now I know that you search through your mind for a name It isn't mine to give And I know that you think that you'll go insane It isn't mine to give Let it go let it go Let it go down to the distant planet from where it came Now I know you don't want it to end in tears You want a frank exchange And I know you don't want me to piss in your ear Some things never change Well I know that you search through your mind for a name It isn't mine to give And I know that you think that you'll go insane Let it go let it go Let it go down to the distant planet from where it came

In Words 03:46
In words, come feel the softness burn In words, come feel the sharpness burst. You can't say just what you say Her games you have to play Suffer and make her pay You can't treat her that way. It binds, military tattoo grinds Behind south facing shuttered blinds Deceased estates entwined And rat poison if inclined. In words, come feel the sharpness burst. In words, come feel the sharpness hurt. You can't say just what you want to say Garbage collector's wage The games you have to play You can't treat her that way

One Reason 02:58
One day when it's fine we'll go out walking Under sunny skies, we'll go out talking. One day you and I, we'll go out drinking' Put your hands in mine while the sun is sinking. You'll take my hand, tell me what you're thinking Know just what what I want without me asking. Oh, I got one reason One day when it's fine, we'll go out walking Under sunny skies, we'll go out talking One day you and I, we'll go out drinking Put your hand while the world is sinking You'll take my hand, I'll feel more love than Jesus, Know just what I want, without me asking. Oh, I got one reason.

It must be clear even to you by now that this is not a game. It must be clear even to you by now that this is not love by some other name. I want you to take a good look around and tell me what you see. I'm not the same man that I used to be. It's not love, it's not love, this just isn't love Are you home by yourself, am I back on the shelf, Does your mind know itself, have you found someone else? It would be such a shame if what we had became just a sad stupid game: Love by some other name. What you'll get and what you expect are not the same. The evidence is on my face and you're in the frame. By popular acclaim, archers take aim, love by some other name.

Get out of bed, with my hand on the gun. I warned you, I warned you, stay clear. She's a ghost in my bed, she's a ghost in my hair. I warned you, I warned you. Another window to peer out of, another window pane I told you, I told you, but you died. Come over here, look out the window. She might appear. She's a ghost in my bed, she's a ghost in my hair, I warned you, I warned you. Fear. Fear

New August 04:02
New August comes around. All the leaves lie on the ground. All the birds are in their nests and everything is underground. New august sights and sounds. Five billionth time you've come around Mountain winds raise their arms stretching Soon the birds will be hatching. New august don't be cruel, take some pity on us fools While the wind is in the east let me scratch my back in peace. Let the mountain carry me, I don't know what to do about you. I'm not gonna marry you. On and on in the name of truth New august softly steals, I can't live up to your ideals, I can't go through with this ordeal, I'll take some time before it heals. New august, hands and knees, take some pity on me please, I don't know what to do about you. Let the mountain carry me, I don't know what to do about you. I'm not gonna marry you. On and on in the name of truth

I don't try to find fault with the mirror, it gives me back exactly what it sees. I don't try and find fault with the mirror it gives me true reflections that it sees I don't try to find fault with the mirror, what it tells me is always down to me I don't try to find fault with the mirror, I haven't got a choice but to believe. I don't try to place faith in the spirit, everything I say is what I see I don't try to put faith in the spirit, it's more or less a question of degree I just wanna live life on my merits, living by my own truth is the key. But nothing compares to the way we feel when I take you to the sea. Cos you know, you can make me smile, I kinda know I'm not your style I know, you're so cool. You're the exception to the rule. I know, so cool. You're the exception to the rule. The exception to the rule. I know you can make me smile. I kinda know I'm not your style. You know, you're so cool, you're the exception to the rule. I know, you're no fool, you're the exception to the rule.

Back Seat. 03:23
You turned up at the party surrounded by your crew, You were so beautiful, I couldn't look at you. And just as you were leaving, I tried a way to break through, I was so pitiful I couldn't look at you Bad blood, I'm a one of a kind, on the back seat, bangin' my head on the same wall til the end of time. I'd like to think I'm special, but that would be untrue I know I'm nothing special, not compared to you. When you showed up at the party I missed my opportunity Like a stupid young boy one year into puberty. I couldnt look at you Bad blood, I'm a one of a kind. On the back seat Bangin' my head on the same wall til the end of time.

Gossips 03:38

about

Ghosts is an album of songs written about love and life through the veil of dysphoria, a condition of mind opposite to euphoria, which perceives life as hostile, dark, and innately suspect. On the dark side of this veil is where ghosts live, seperate from the light and joy of life until it lifts of it's own accord.
